‘Revision THR survivorship for ceramic failures – Is survival different?’
Role: Investigator principal.
Description: A series of 10 ceramic THR bearing fractures in 9 patients, with retrospective analysis of components and their position looking for underlying cause.
Outcome: In progress.
‘Reducing waiting time to surgery for patients with peri-prosthetic femoral fractures: a quality improvement project’
Role: Investigator principal.
Description: We retrospectively analysed the waiting times from diagnosis on X-ray to surgery for NOF#s and PPF#s between 1/9/20 to 1/4/21 at St. Richard’s (SRH) and Worthing General (WGH) Hospitals.
Outcome: In progress.
MD Thesis: ‘Optimum number and fixation configuration for intra-capsular fracture neck femur with postero-medial comminution’
Role: Lead research. Under supervision of Prof Blunn.
Description: Finite Element Analysis, saw bone experiment and cadaveric bone experiment. I have completed all the experiments and am in the process of writing the thesis.
Outcome: In progress.
‘HAC coated femoral stems in young patients. A prospective 16 to 19 years study’
Description: A series of 38 young patients < 50 years age.
Outcome: Published in the The Bone & Joint Journal July 2009. 91-B July 2009; 865-69.
‘Birmingham hip resurfacing arthroplasty’
Role: Initiated the project and supervised a junior Registrar.
Description: A series of 110 consecutive hips with a minimum 5 years clinical and radiographic follow-up.
Outcome: Published in the The Bone & Joint Journal August 2008. 90-B August 08; 1137-42.
